FAQ

JAMB and most Nigerian universities require a minimum of 5 O-Level credits (A1–C6) at WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in one sitting (or two sittings for some schools). The 5 credits must include English Language and Mathematics for most courses. Medicine, Pharmacy, and Law typically require 5 credits in one sitting including English, Mathematics, and relevant science/arts subjects. Some universities strictly require one-sitting results — check the admissions requirements of each school you're applying to.
The WAEC aggregate is the sum of grade points for your best 6 subjects (lower is better). It is used in some university admission aggregate formulas alongside JAMB score and Post-UTME scores. Not all universities use the aggregate in the same way — some use the number of credits and their quality (A1s vs C6s) rather than a numerical aggregate. The aggregate is also sometimes used for direct entry admission and scholarship applications.
Yes. JAMB and most Nigerian universities accept WAEC (WASSCE), NECO (SSCE), NABTEB, and GCE O-Level results. You can combine results from up to two sittings (and sometimes from different examination bodies) to make up the required number of credits — provided you have a maximum of 2 sittings. However, courses like Medicine at some universities insist on 5 credits in one sitting. Always verify the specific requirements for each institution and course you're applying to.
