How to Use This Calculator

Enter the original price in Naira and the discount percentage. The calculator instantly shows the sale price and total savings. Use Add to Cart to track multiple discounted items and see the total across all purchases.

The Formula

Savings = Original Price × (Discount % ÷ 100) Sale Price = Original Price − Savings Example: ₦15,000 at 25% off Savings = ₦15,000 × 0.25 = ₦3,750 Sale Price = ₦15,000 − ₦3,750 = ₦11,250

FAQ

If you see a sale price and know the discount percentage: Original = Sale Price ÷ (1 − Discount/100). For example, if a shirt is ₦8,000 at 20% off: Original = ₦8,000 ÷ 0.80 = ₦10,000. This reverse calculation is useful for checking whether a "sale" at a Nigerian market represents a genuine discount from the real original price.
Two consecutive discounts are not simply added. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount = 1 − (0.80 × 0.90) = 1 − 0.72 = 28% total discount, not 30%. This is important when Nigerian e-commerce sites offer "promo code + sale" combinations. Always calculate the final price rather than adding the percentage figures.
Nigerian e-commerce platforms (Jumia, Konga) and physical malls offer 10–50% during seasonal sales (Black Friday, Sallah, Christmas). "Super deals" of 60–70% are occasionally advertised but often start from inflated original prices. Traditional market discounts involve negotiation — starting at 30–50% above expected price and settling at 10–20% below stated price. Always compare with multiple vendors.
